It’s a winter’s evening and the family are home. It’s seven o’clock. It’s not time for dinner, but it is time for all the doors to lock automatically.

You are having a family barbecue and everyone is outside. Anyone, with any type of smart phone, could share their music over the system without having to download anything or plug into the system.

You are having a dinner party. Guests will be arriving at different times, and you wish to have music playing in the background, while you add the finishing touches. The door chime will sound, the music will mute, while you access the cameras to see who is at the front gate or door. You can let them in at the touch of a button from your smart phone.

You and the dinner party guests have had a sumptuous meal. It’s now time to retire to the lounge leaving the dining room behind. 15 minutes after leaving the dining room, the lights and the music switch off and the curtains close automatically.

It’s the end of the dinner party and the guests have gone. You are just getting into bed and cannot remember if everything is secure and off. You reach for your iPhone and with a touch the button, the house is locked, the outside and the inside lights are turned off along with any entertainment equipment.

It’s morning. You reach for your iPhone in the in the dock beside your bed. At the touch of a button, the curtains open and the lights raise slowly in the master bedroom, whilst the preferred setting in the master bathroom is brighter. You access the latest music download from last night and press play. The music can be heard in both rooms, but your selection can also be accessed, or played, by anybody else in the house, in any other room if required.

In the event of an alarm, one button can be programmed to switch on all lights, switch off all TV’s and music and open all the doors and shades.

As a design idea, the bezel of your touch screen iPad set flush into the wall can be painted to match your wall, and when the touch screen is inactive, it can turn blank to match the color of the wall too. Touch the screen anywhere and the buttons will immediately show.
